CSM Jackie Brown Jr.

CSM Brown was born in Wilmington, Deleware, on Aug. 18, 1963. He entered the United States Army on Aug. 19, 1982. He completed basic training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina as a Personnel Records Specialist (75D). In 1987, CSM Brown reclassified as a Graves Registation Specialist (57F).

CSM Brown has served in a variety of assignments and positions culminating in his present assignment as the 16th Special Troops Battalion Command Sergeant Major. His assignments and positions include Personnel Records Team Leader for the 9th Personnel Service Company, Fort Lewis, Washington; Graves Registration NCO, United States Army Memorial Affairs Activity, Europe; Mortuary Affairs NCOIC, 801st Main Support Battalion/426th Forward Support Battalion, Fort Campbell, Kentucky; Senior Team Sergeant, (S3) Operations NCOIC, Senior Casualty Data Analyst, and First Sergeant, U.S. Army Central Identification Laboratory, Hickam AFB, HI; Quartermaster Center and School Mortuary Affairs Center Sergeant Major, Fort Lee, Virginia; Senior Mortuary Affairs Combat Developer, DCD-QM, Fort Lee, Virginia; First Sergeant, 54th Quartermaster Company, Fort Lee, Virginia; S2/S3 Operations Sergeant Major, 49th Quartermaster Group, Fort Lee, Virginia; Combat Mortuary NCOIC, Landstuhl, Germany; Command Senior Enlisted Leader, Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command, Hickam AFB, HI; USPACOM Senior Enlisted Leader Developer for Partner Nations Enlisted Development, Camp Smith HI; 10th Sustainment Brigade Troops Battalion Command Sergeant Major, Fort Drum N.Y.

CSM Brown is a graduate of the Primary Leadership Development Course (PLDC), Basic Noncommissioned Officers Course (BNCOC), (Distinguished Honor Graduate), Advanced Noncommissioned Officers Course (ANCOC), Supervisor Development Course, Instructor Development Course, Drug and Alcohol Course and the Army Sergeants Major Academy Class 57 (Resident); Pre-Command/Command Segeants Major Course; CSM Brown has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Liberal Arts (Cum Laude)/Associate Degree in General Studies. He is pursuing a Master Degree in Business Administration.

CSM Brown's awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal, (four oak leaf clusters), the Army Commendation Medal (one oak leaf cluster), the Army Achievement Medal, (one oak leaf cluster), Global War on Terrorism Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, (9th award), NCO Professional Development Ribbon (numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (numeral 5), Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Superior Unit Award, the Distinguished Order of Saint Martin and the German Marksmanship Cord (Schutzenschnur).

CSM Brown has been married for 29 years to the former Mary S. Cooper of Kingstree South Carolina. They have three children, Tiffany, Jackie III, and Gabrielle and two grandchildren, Aria and Morgan.
