Mission
The 30th MED BDE provides medical mission command that delivers flexible, responsive, and effective Health Service Support and Force Health Protection to the U.S. European Command (EUCOM) and U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM) theaters; and provides assurance to our allies and partners through medical diplomacy that encourages integration, improves interoperability and builds capacity.

History
The 30th Medical Command (Deployment Support) began as the 30th Medical Regiment on Oct. 1, 1933 in the state of Texas.

The unit was redesignated as the 30th Medical Group on September 8, 1943.

The unit was inactivated at Fort Benning in 1949.

On March 25, 1953, the Group was reactivated in Korea.

In 1955, the Group was assigned to Seventh Army, United States Army Europe at Landstuhl, Germany.

In 1965, the 30th Medical Group was attached to Headquarters, 7th Medical Brigade, and became part of the U.S. Army's first medical brigade.

On March 19, 1992, the 30th Medical Group was reorganized as the 30th Medical Brigade.

On 16 October 2008, the Brigade was reorganized as the 30th Medical Command (Deployment Support).
