SGM Jesus M. Zamarripa

Sergeant Major Jesus M. Zamarripa is a native of Brownsville, Texas and joined the United States Army on June 24, 1986. He enlisted as an Equipment Records and Parts Specialist (76C) and completed basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, followed by Advanced Individual Training at Fort Lee, Virginia.

SGM Zamarripa has completed overseas tours in Germany, Iraq, Hawaii and Korea. His stateside assignments include Fort Polk, Louisiana, Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Knox, Kentucky. His most recent assignments include, G4 Sergeant Major for Multi-National Division North, 1st Armored Division (OIF); Division Material Management Center Sergeant Major for the 1st Armored Division DISCOM (Division Support Command) in Wiesbaden, Germany; “Ready First” Brigade, 1st Armored Division in Friedberg, Germany; 13th Corps Support Command in Fort Hood, Texas; 2nd “Warhorse” Brigade, 4th Infantry Division. SGM Zamarripa is currently serving as the United States Army Europe Operations Sustainment Directorate SGM and the G4 Sergeant Major.

SGM Zamarripa’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star with one oak leaf cluster; the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters; the Army Commendation Medal with three oak leaf clusters; and the Army Achievement Medal with one oak leaf cluster. He is also a graduate of the U.S. Army Drill Sergeant School and Air Assault School.

SGM Zamarripa is a graduate of the United States Army Sergeants Major Academy at Fort Bliss, Texas (Class 54).
