    This website contains information on the Equal Employment Opportunity program which is administered by the U.S. Army Europe EEO office. The goal of this website is to present information that will assist leaders and employees in understanding the intricacies of the EEO process.

    Mission Statement
    Our mission is to advise the US Army Europe and 7th Army Commander and Senior leaders on EEO issues, and to provide policy guidance and oversight for program direction, management and evaluation for ASCC organizations and active leadership for obtaining full compliance of EEO legal authorities, and regulations.

    Our vision is to be the model EEO program in the Army.

    Federal Laws

    Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA)
    Disabilities Act of 1990 prohibit employment discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities in the private sector, and in state and local governments.

    Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964
    Title VII prohibits employment discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, or national origin.

    The Equal Pay Act of 1963 (EPA)
    The EPA protects men and women who perform substantially equal work in the same establishment from sex-based wage discrimination.

    The Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967 (ADEA)
    ADEA protects individuals who are 40 years of age or older.

    Sections 501 and 505 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973
    These Acts prohibit discrimination against qualified individuals with disabilities who work in the federal government.

    Civil Rights Act of 1991
    This Act among other things, provides monetary damages in cases of intentional employment discrimination.

    Program Components

    Special emphasis programs promote equal opportunity in the hiring, advancement, training, and treatment of each targeted group. These programs advocate change to overcome barriers that restrict equal employment opportunities.

    The Special Emphasis Programs are established by Federal Law as part of the total Affirmative Employment Program effort striving for equal opportunities in hiring, career development, career advancement, training, mentoring, awards, etc.

    The goal of the Special Emphasis programs is to eliminate stereotypes; create understanding of other cultures/cultural awareness; provide training (for example, career development, mentoring, coaching) and recognition of contributions to society.
