Mission

The USAREUR Knowledge Management section supports the commander and staff in achieving situational understanding and making informed, knowledgeable, and timely decisions through the integration and management of Army Mission Command Systems and various other collaboration tools.

Core Competencies

  • Knowledge Management (KM) provides the USAREUR commander, staff, and major subordinate commands (MSCs) subject matter expertise on how intellectual capital is shared, leveraged and applied by using effective principles and practices to produce, collect, codify and exchange knowledge and information.
  • Incorporation of KM best practices to include development of templates, checklists, and techniques along with continuous improvement via balanced scorecard methodologies and key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Provision of knowledge management readiness assessments which contribute to increased USAREUR organizational competency.
  • Content management via records management in accordance with Army regulations, recording of lessons learned and standardization of KM policies, processes and taxonomy.
  • Ongoing refinement of KM portal governance and policies and support of organizational KM infrastructure.
  • Curriculum design and content delivery of USAREUR Staff Orientation Course (USOC) using an ongoing focus on knowledge management.
  • Integration of tasks and events USAREUR-wide by capitalizing on existing synchronization tools and applications.
  • Development, deployment, and management of USAREUR collaboration environment.
  • Sponsorship and facilitation of USAREUR Knowledge Management Community Of Interest (KMCOI).
