German Minister of Defense praises U.S. Army Europe helicopter crew members during Afghanistan visit

German Minister of Defense Karl Theodor zu Guttenberg took time out from his April 14 visit to German troops in Afghanistan to salute U.S. Army Europe helicopter crew members who provided lifesaving medical evacuation response and covering fire during an April 2 battle with militants.

The Americans are assigned to USAREUR’s 12th Combat Aviation Brigade, headquartered in Ansbach, Germany.
