HEIDELBERG, Germany -- USAG Wiesbaden will receive this year's Army Communities of Excellence "Sustained Excellence" award in Washington D.C. May 1.

"This achievement is indicative of the hard work, attention to detail and pride you and your directorates place on every facet of our operations and services." said Col. David H. Carstens, Wiesbaden garrison commander.

This is the highest category that could have been awarded following last year's Gold Award recognition as the best garrison in the Army.

Organizations are ineligible to compete for the Gold Award a consecutive time after winning.
Another category must be chosen if they wish to compete such as sustained excellence, exemplary practice and honorable mentions.
