Heidelberg-based 7th Weather Squadron receives Air Force level awards

HEIDELBERG, Germany -- Airmen from the United States Army Europe’s supporting weather squadron earned four top Air Force level awards for Calendar Year 2011.

The 7th Weather Squadron is the combat weather squadron that supports Europe. They provide weather forecasts and updates to commanders and their staff by delivering specialized weather bulletins in support of the crisis action team.  

“I am extremely proud of all our military and civilian weather warriors for their superior accomplishments that once again led the way on both the home front and on the battlefield, says Air Force Director of Weather, Fred P. Lewis. “The efforts of everyone contributed significantly to the accomplishments of the Air Force mission throughout the past year and I would like to send special congratulations to this year’s winners and to all of the nominees.”
