COPENHAGEN, Denmark -- The Army Operational Command Denmark and U.S. Army Europe are hosting senior noncommissioned officers from 32 nations and the U.S. during the seventh annual Conference of European Armies for Noncommissioned Officers here through May 22.

The three-day conference led by Royal Danish Army Chefsergent Flemming Anderson and USAREUR Command Sgt. Maj. David S. Davenport is one of USAREUR’s premier theater security cooperation events, and brings together senior NCOs from ground forces across Europe, Eurasia and North America.

“The purpose of the conference is to encourage the development of professional armies throughout the European land forces and build relationships between the European armies and senior NCOs,” Davenport explained. “We are focused on the further progression of the development and success of professional noncommissioned officer corps in European and Eurasian land forces. The conference achieves that objective by engaging senior NCOs in frank and open discussions on military matters of mutual interest.”

This year’s conference will focus on resiliency programs, dealing with mental health issues, the fitness and discipline of Soldiers and the reintegration of wounded warriors.

Attendees generally hold the top enlisted positions in their nations’ land forces. The conference allows for discussion on matters of mutual interest and the opportunity to establish and maintain personal and professional relationships between counterparts.
