USAREUR welcomes Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff

HEIDELBERG, Germany -- Maj. Gen. Terry A. Wolff assumed duties as Deputy Commanding General and Chief of Staff U.S. Army Europe Feb. 1.

Wolff remains Commanding General of the 1st Armored Division in Wiesbaden.

A native of Elk Grove, Calif., Wolff was commissioned an Armor officer after graduating from the United States Military Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1979.

He has served several tours in Germany, including assignments in Schwabach, Wuerzburg, Vilseck, and Bad Kreuznach . Wolff also served on the Joint Staff in the Pentagon as chief of the Eastern Europe and Eurasia division of the European Affairs Directorate of J-5. Prior to taking command of the 1st Armored Division, Wolff served on the National Security Council as a Senior Director for Iraq and Afghanistan.
