International exercise Immediate Response underway in Croatia

ZAGREB, Croatia -- More than 1,000 United States, Croatian, Albanian, Bosnian, Macedonian, Montenegrin and Serbian Soldiers are participating in Immediate Response 2011 in Slunj and Zagreb, Croatia.  This multinational, joint exercise involves soldiers from U.S. Army Europe and the Minnesota, Texas and Utah Army National Guard.   The two-week exercise is primarily focused on company level training aiming at improving U.S. interoperability with allied and NATO forces and at helping Croatian forces prepare for deployment.   Currently Croatia has more than 300 soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
