HEIDELBERG, Germany -- Three U.S. Army Europe civilian employees filmed an American Forces Network television spot with award-winning musician, singer, songwriter, actor, and military child Jon Bon Jovi, at the Bayerischer Hof hotel in Munich June 12.

The spot, also featuring U.S. Ambassador to Germany Philip D. Murphy and his wife Tammy, thanks Soldiers, civilian employees, and their Families for their service and sacrifice.

“Know that what you are doing is making a difference, that your bravery is not without appreciation and your sacrifice is not unnoticed,” Bon Jovi said during the taping session.

The idea for the spot was Mrs. Murphy’s, and derives from the close relationship the ambassador’s family has with Bon Jovi. The Murphy’s and Bon Jovi are neighbors in Middletown, N.J.

Bon Jovi, whose parents are both former U.S. Marines, and his band, are currently on a world tour. Upcoming performances in Germany include:

- Wed, July 13, Esprit Arena, Duesseldorf

- Sat, July 16, Mannheim

Other cities in Europe he and his band will be touring include Oslo, Helsinki, London, Dublin, Istanbul, and Athens.
