HEIDELBERG, Germany – Master Sgt. Mark Jordan, of Houston, Texas, received the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People Roy Wilkins Renowned Service Award during an awards dinner hosted by the NAACP and the Department of Defense July 26 at the Los Angeles Convention Center.

The award is presented to military service members who have distinguished themselves by promoting civil rights, race relations and public service.

As the U.S. Army Europe equal opportunity senior enlisted advisor, Jordan coaches and mentors approximately 30 equal opportunity advisors, all noncommissioned officers, from units throughout Europe. He plans, organizes and executes symposiums and training conferences to provide EOAs the most current training and the latest diversity tools to advise commanders and serve Soldiers throughout the command.
