HEIDELBERG, Germany – U.S. Army Europe opens the nomination period for the Gen. Douglas MacArthur Leadership Award from Sept. 1 through Nov.1.

In its 24th year, the program continues to recognize company grade officers who demonstrate the ideals for which MacArthur stood – duty, honor, and country.

The award promotes and sustains effective junior officer leadership in the Army. Ranks include second lieutenants to captains and warrant officer to chief warrant officer 2.

Officers selected at the USAREUR level will move forward to the Department of the Army level, where only 25 officers and three warrant officers in the active, National Guard and Reserve components across the Army will receive the award.
