HEIDELBERG, Germany -- The Association of the United States Army has published a Torchbearer Issue Paper titled “The U.S. Army in Europe: A Pillar of America’s Defense Strategy.”

The 4-page paper discusses the benefits of U.S. forces based outside the continental United States, and notes how the transformed USAREUR uniquely extends American national security interests by building relationships.

This December Torchbearer also explains how the 7th U.S. Army Joint Multinational Training Command, the Army's largest training command outside of the continental United States, has trained more than 100,000 U.S. and multinational forces from 27 countries since 2008.

The paper is available on the AUSA website here.

AUSA is a professional, non-profit association representing America’s Army on Capitol Hill and in the local communities.
